QPAC Cremorne Theatre Upgrade

Advanced Deconstruction was proud to accept the commission by Leaf Building Group to undertake the intricate internal demolition at QPACs beloved Cremorne Theatre. The 32 year old Cremorne, one of Queensland’s most iconic venues recently received a $2.3 million refurbishment. Advanced Deconstruction utilised its specialist team to conduct the works adhering to heavy environmental impact controls for the mitigation of dust and noise while completing the project entirely outside of QPACs long operating hours. Our works included;

  • Removal of stalls, stage, balcony seating and all internal fit out
  • Demolition of internal concrete balconies and structural elements to facilitate the theatre transformation including the addition of the new telescopic seating and variable height stage
  • Pressure cleaning of separation lines and application of epoxy sealer to exposed reinforcement bars

In the successful delivery of this project, Advanced Deconstruction met the high standards expected by Arts Queensland and the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection who’s collective aim was to ensure the refurbishment works were executed within the parameters set out in the  Queensland Cultural Centre’s heritage listing and were in accordance with the new Conservation Management Plan for the cultural precinct.
